Listed on the National Register of Historic Districts, Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic park was the home of William Robertson Coe from 1913 to 1955. Coe who held an interest in rare plants, developed the 409 acre estate into an arboretum with 160 acres of garden and plants. From mid August to mid October, the outdoor dahlia strolling garden is awash in all the colors of the rainbow among hundreds of blooms of all shapes and sizes. The rose garden also offers a wonderful experience of scents and colors.
