The 28th Annual Holiday Festival
The 28th Annual Holiday Festival featuring the Promenade of Trees and Santa's Arrival will be held on Main Street on the Harbor in Stony Brook Village.
This widely anticipated annual event officially kicks off Stony Brook's holiday season. A winter wonderland awaits those who visit to stroll along the walkways lined with shops festooned in their holiday finest, ready to greet holiday shoppers and view the trees decorated by an array of community groups on display throughout the Center. A horse-drawn carriage brings Santa to the Village Green at 2 p.m. to spend the afternoon with children of all ages. Beginning at 1 p.m. visitors and shoppers can enjoy a variety of musical and choral presentations heralding the lighting of the Center's 70 foot Christmas tree. At 5:30 p.m., Santa returns to the Center atop the Stony Brook Fire Department's 3,000 light Holiday Float to culminate the day's events by leading all in a holiday sing-a-long and oversee the Tree's lighting.
