VISIT LONG ISLAND WINE COUNTRY’S WINTER FESTIVAL MONTH THIS FEBRUARY
HAUPPAUGE, NY- (November 10, 2005)- This February, make plans to go to the East End of Long Island, where the vineyards, cultural venues, attractions, accommodations and eateries have joined together for a special Long Island Wine Country Winter Festival- featuring a month-long array of special events and offers.
Why not plan a girls weekend away (at the height of football season), or a sweet Valentine’s weekend getaway, or a family outing during the February winter recess?
Special discounts will be offered to those purchasing a Festival “Passport,” offered through the East End Arts Council and the Long Island Wine Council. The Passport provides access to and information about special events, activities, freebies, and discounts for Passport holders only. Enjoy any or all of the Passport activities. It also makes a great stocking stuffer!
Get away with the girls, while the guys are at home watching football, during the Women’s Weekend/Girls Getaway Feb. 4 & 5 for Passport holders. Plan to spend the weekend at a spa with special discounts, see a film screening, go to a beauty consultation, discuss the latest art exhibit, and sample the wines and foods of Long Island’s East End.
Valentines will have two chances to get away to Wine Country Feb. 11 & 12 or Feb. 18 & 19. Carve your sweetheart’s initials in a vineyard fence post, and sample chocolates and sweet wines. Enjoy special weekend package rates and spend the weekend dancing and dining while taking in the unique solitude of winter on the East End.
During mid-winter break from school, the entire family will have fun during “family week, Feb. 20-26. Special activities planned for families include cork games and cooking classes, a kid’s carnival, and a mid-winter picnic, among many other activities.
